Many residents of Oloka in Orire local government area of the state have fled the community following the killing of five officers of national park service by suspected bandits.
BCOS correspondent in Ogbomoso, Aderemi Akanmu who visited the town this evening reports that the town was deserted as majority of the houses were under lock and key.
It was gathered that the suspects who arrived the office of the National Park around 10pm on Wednesday shot five officers.
Speaking at the scene of the incident, the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Haruna who arrived the office of the park along other senior police officers assured the residents of the area that the police and other security sisters will redouble their commitment to provide more security for life and property in the area and the state in general.
The CP said the suspects will be apprehended soon, charging the DPO in Orire, Ajewole Ayodeji to be more surveillance, also calling on the residents who had fled the town to return home.
The Chairman, Orire local government, Mr Micheal Alabi, Baale Babatunde Alagbe, Baale Emmanuel Oguntola and Pa Olafimihan Oyelami appealed to the government and security agents to establish security post in the to prevent reocurence of the such incident.
The CP was accompanied by the Commander, Ogbomoso Operation Burst, Emeto Micheal, Orire DPO, Ajewole Ayodimeji among other security officers like Amotekun Operatives.
